The Lighthouse Phone Call Tracking System
The phone rings, you answer it, it's a patient or another dentist calling for the doctor. If you're really lucky, the note you write on the pink slip actually makes it to the doctor's desk (or briefcase, or pocket), and the doctor doesn't lose it before finding the time to return the call. What's very unlikely to happen in any case is that the important details of the call (the original or the return call) are recorded anywhere for future reference. The Lighthouse Phone Call Tracking System eliminates the paper, gives the doctor a really easy way to keep track of the calls that haven't been returned yet, and gives everyone an easy way to permanently record the details.

 

Effective use of the PracticeWorks Security System
There is more to the PracticeWorks security system than simply preventing certain staff from poking around in areas where they shouldn't. While preventing unauthorized access to a certain feature is certainly one of the abilities of the security system, it goes well beyond that. Effective configuration of the security system allows for not only access prevention to certain features (like modifying financial data), but also for things like the enforcement of office policies (like obeying block booking rules) and the detection of malicious behaviors (such as embezzlement). The security system also is capable of collecting valuable information that supports your daily use of PracticeWorks. For example, few users know that the security system enables you to see a complete history of any appointment, including when it was made, by whom, when it was confirmed (and by whom), etc. Finally, the information the security system collects allows PracticeScript to do some high level analysis of your practice. This article describes all of these uses of the security system.

The following is a list of recent additions to the Club Lighthouse download area. It is important to remember that most downloads have a corresponding article or forum post associated with them. The Cell Farm
Version: 11-06-2003
An Analysis Expert that's just a bunch of cell definitions, for you to copy into your own Analysis Experts and use (with the [Copy from other spreadsheet] function of the Analysis Expert). This allows you to create Analysis Experts without knowing how to write PracticeScript. A special forum in the Forums section has been set up for details on using the Cell Farm. Instructions about using the Cell Farm are posted there. You can also make requests for new cells to be added by posting a topic. Click here to go to the Cell Farm Forum now.

Miscellaneous Contact Experts
Version: 10.28.2003
A collection of various Contact Experts for a number of different things: **LH99 Person lookup by phone number (find anyone in PW if you know a home or work phone number) **LH99 Ptn/IP's w/ a selected InsCo (Find all patients who are also their own Insured Party, and who have an Insurance Company you select at runtime. Useful for doing a mailing to IP's w/ that Insurance Company.) **LH99 Birthdays for one week (All patients w/ a birthday in a one week period beginning two weeks from this Monday.) **LH99 RP's prod'n and coll'n (Total production and collection for each RP, for a user-prompted time period, and since the day you started using PW. UPDATED 10-26-2003: Also prompts for a minimum amount of collections, so you can get only your biggest revenue generators.)

Appointed patients of Employer CE
Version: 1.01
A Contact Expert that lists patients who have an appointment on or after a certain date who have either a primary or secondary employer/plan that is a specific employer/plan. Both the "certain date" and the "specific employer/plan" are user prompts, so this Contact Expert can be used for a variety of purposes. This Contact Expert is in response to a member request. See this post for details.

LH Phone call tracking system
Version: 11-07-2003
A system for recording and tracking calls the doctor needs to return. Consists of a Form, and Contact Expert and two AutoLinks. See the Article that describes how to install, configure and use it.
