It's time again to update you on all the cool things happening on Club Lighthouse! This newsletter represents a summary of the best of what's going on at the web site.

To start your web browser now and log into Club Lighthouse, click here! That will open up a browser window on your computer. You can then Alt-Tab back to this e-mail and select any link in this email. Clicking on the link in this email will cause that article or forum post to appear in the browser window (you will have to Alt-Tab BACK to that browser window to see it).

The First Club Lighthouse Cruise!

We are so pleased to announce the first (of many, we hope) Club Lighthouse Illumination Seminars on a boat - a really big boat - Royal Caribbean's "Rhapsody of the Seas"! There will be seminars where you'll learn things you can't get from any other Lightouse seminar, there will be lots of opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with fellow PracticeWorks users, and a whole lotta fun!

New Articles
X-Ray Request Tracking System
When a new patient schedules an appointment and informs you that they have recent X-Rays from a previous dentist, or it's simply your policy to call the previous dentist for recent X-Rays, manual tracking of this can sometimes be challenging. We've tried to make this effortless for you by creating a system that will allow easier tracking. When the patient gives you the name of the previous dentist, you can make contact, request the X-Rays and keep track of whether or not they have been received.

 

Making Better Recall Appointments
Roughly half of all appointments in most dental practices are for recall, so way back in version 1.0 of PracticeWorks®, we created some buttons to make it really quick and easy to make them. The one you see most often is the [Recall appt] button on the "Make New Appointment" window, but you'll also see it as [Make recall appt] when you're pulling procedures from a treatment plan into an appointment, and it may have other similar names in other parts of the program. But no matter what it's called, it does the same thing when you click it:

 

New or updated downloads
The following is a list of recent additions to the Club Lighthouse download area. It is important to remember that most downloads have a corresponding article or forum post associated with them. LH Simple Recall System
Version: 6-1-2004
A Contact Expert, documents and "smart" AutoLinks that make it simple to send a series of recall reminder cards, and to do it once a week. See the Article "A Simple Recall System" for all the details. There are two versions of the Contact Expert - one to use if you don't do any calling of patients for recall, and another if you do want to call patients (in addition to sending the e-mails, postcards and letters). There are also some other "specific-use" Recall Contact Experts, including one just for kids, to be used when you're coming up on a school break. 6-1-2004: Minor update - changed the two "coming due" documents to use which takes a forced recall date into account, unlike the system-defined .

The Rx Farm
Version: 4-19-2004
A collection of Rx's that aren't in the PW Plus Pack. These simply add to your list of Rx's when you write a new one. (We've also updated the PW Plus Pack Rx's to add the "Phoned in" option that's on all the LH Rx's. To download them, click here.) See the article that describes how to install and use them.

Study model box tracking system
Version: 12-13-2003
A Form for recording the box number of a patient's study models, an AutoLink on the Clipboard [Actions] button to access the Form, and two Contact Experts: one to see the box number for all patients on a given day, the other to see what box numbers are currently available.

Treatment Proposal Tracking System
Version: 04-21-2004
A system for preparing a very nice looking treatment proposal for patients, and for tracking case presentation and acceptance. Consists of a Form, a Document, a Contact Expert, an Analysis Expert and several AutoLinks. See the article that describes the system by clicking here.

X-Ray request system
Version: 5-12-04
A Form to track when x-rays were requested by a previous dentist: An X-Ray request Document that can be faxed (or mailed): An X-Ray request E-Mail that can be e-mailed: And a Contact Expert to track when (and if) they were received.

School Excuse Document
Version: 5/17/04
A document titled "School excuse" which will print upon request during the "check in" of a child that: -is between the ages of 5 and 18. -if the appointment isn't a Saturday -if the appointment is between 8 and 3 Click here to see the post that generated the creation of this document.

Production by ZIP code
Version: 05-17-2004
Production during a date range, broken down by the ZIP code of the Responsible Party. Excludes any Responsible Party with $10 or less in production during the date range, just to keep the "noise" out of the numbers.

Inactive Patients by Specific Doctor
Version: 05/20/04
Contact Expert for Inactive Patients by specific Doctor. Click HERE to read the post that prompted this Contact Expert.

Actual and estimated production for today
Version: 05-24-2004
An Analysis Expert that shows today's scheduled production (on all not-yet-checked-out appointments) and today's actual production so far (on checked out appointments). Created for Janet at Dr. John Lake's office.

LH99 Production for new patients
A contact expert that lists all patients who were first seen within a specified time period, and the total production generated by those patients within a separate (or possibly the same) time period.
