Joel Kozikowski
Original co-designer of the PracticeWorks software system, 25 year veteran of the computer software development industry
If it weren't for Joel, PracticeWorks might have been just another dental program.
Joel was the original programmer, and co-designer (with Brian Smith) of PracticeWorks, and was the lead programmer / designer
up through version 4.5. Between them, they designed every significant feature of the program during its first nine years of existence.
Truly a visionary thinker, he's responsible for PracticeWorks being based on the appointment book, and for such extraordinary features as the
Contact Experts, User Defined Notes and Forms, and PracticeScript.
More recently, he's designed the entire Lighthouse PLZ infrastructrue, which will enable his innovative thinking to benefit users of
all practice management systems.
Unlike most "propeller heads," Joel has an amazing ability to teach complex technical topics to non-technical people.
His seminars and articles are always laid back, filled with easy, real world examples, and guaranteed to satisfy your hunger for
taking your computer knowledge up a notch or two.
Joel graduated from Indiana University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in
Business. His professional career includes experience not only in the field of dentistry, but also in
medical, retail, lending, accounting, payroll, and education.
